Hellenic Maritime Museum

The Hellenic Maritime Museum was founded in 1949. It is located at Freatida, near Zea Harbour, in Piraeus. The museum exhibits approximately 2500 items related to the maritime history of Greece from prehistoric times to the present day. The exhibits are displayed in chronological order. Various ship models are included, along with a number of paintings from the late 19th and early 20th century.

The museum is open to the public from Tuesday to Saturday, from 09:00 to 14:00. It is closed on Sunday, Monday and on public holidays. Taking photographs in the museum is not allowed.
